EXPLORE: Top Ten Favorite Travel Gear Items

I’ve been traveling since before I could walk! My mom and dad took me everywhere on adventures and ingrained in me a love of travel. After years of traveling I have come to love certain travel gear pieces. While I always take my passport holder, packing cubes, and carry on essentials like my make-up bag and TSA approved liquids bag, I also have a rotating variety of favorites like bags, backpacks, and luggage. Check out my top ten favorite travel essentials and check out the links for easy shopping!

My Favorite Travel Gear

1. Passport Holder

Practical passport holders can hold and protect your passport, credit cards, tickets, phone, money, and more. Make sure your passport holder blocks 13.56MHz frequency (RFID).

2. Personal Bag

A large purse or personal tote is a great way to carry on your personal items. Totes can fit a tablet, paperwork, cell phone with ear buds, a book, snacks, beverage, and more.

3. Backpack

Backpacks make great carry on bags for short trips and beach trips. Backpacks with multiple compartments provide organization and easy access to laptops, clothing, and travel essentials.

4. Carry On

Carry on luggage is a great way to travel light and is a great option for travelers who prefer to keep checked luggage fees low or prefer to keep their possessions with them. Check your airline carrier’s website for weight and size restrictions.

5. Suitcase

If you need to take more clothing with you or are going on an extended trip, you may consider taking a checked suitcase. Check your airline carrier’s website for weight and size restrictions.

6. Packing Cubes

I love packing cubes so much! Packing cubes are great for packing clothing. Pack predetermined outfits or similar clothing in cubes to help organize everything.

7. Make-Up Bag

Make-up bags are a great way to pack your beauty essentials. By packing in a separate valet you can have easy access to your products to freshen up while traveling. Try using a contact case to store liquids such as BB Cream, Foundation, or lotion.

8. Drawstring Bags

Drawstring bags are great for wrapping shoes in or for bringing back dirty or wet clothing. I usually pack these flat for departure and pack dirty or wet clothing in them for the trek back home.

9. TSA Approved Bag for Liquids

TSA approved sized bags and containers allow you to pack liquids in carry on bags. Take your shampoo, conditioner, or body wash along on your trip without worry of being flagged by TSA.

10. Travel Cooler

Coolers are a great way to take food and drinks on the go. Consider packing a cooler for road trips or taking one along so that you can store refrigerated items on the go (like insulin) and to keep the cost down on eating out while traveling.
